Anti bullying week

Last week was Anti-bullying week, so we talked about how to be a good friend.  We said being a good friend makes the people we are being kind to feel special and makes us feel happy too.

We decided to fill our hungry caterpillar up with ideas of how to be a good friend so that he can grow into a  beautiful butterfly both inside and out.

Our ideas were…

* we make our friends feel happy
* use  smiley face
* if your friend feels sad or scared hold their hand and find a grown up
* Use kind words
* Use kind hands
* Hug!

I'm sure you'll agree if we all followed these rules, the world would be  happy place!

New sharing books

We were very excited to take home our first sharing books. We choose them every Monday and Thursday and get to take them home to read with our families.

The Very Hungry Caterpilar

Today we listened to the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'

We were really good at helping Mrs Harrison count the pieces of food that the caterpillar ate.

Later on, The very hungry Caterpillar came to visit us and we tried to help fill up his tummy with one of his favourite foods bananas!

We had to carefully chop them up and then count how many pieces he had on his leaf plate. He finished the banana but he was still hungry!!!

Find out what else he gets up to later in the week...

Pizza!

We were very lucky to get a special delivery of Pizza from Paul the Pizza man at Domino's, we enjoyed eating it while we thought about what we liked on our own pizzas. We made a shopping list for the grown ups and then we got to make our own!

We were brilliant at carefully spreading the tomato sauce and sprinkling the cheese. We then selected which ingredients we liked to top our pizza.

We cooked them in the Nursery oven and they smelled amazing!

We took them home to eat and maybe share with our grown ups.

You can see us busy at work below…

Self-Portraits

Nursery have been busy demonstrating their amazing painting skills. We looked at our faces in mirrors and our friends faces and created a rubric to help us remember what we needed to include when we began our painting.

The children did an amazing job and their paintings really brighten up our classroom and make us smile!
